KyMel, Inc is dedicated to keeping your camper safe while at our camps.  You can rest assured that your child is in good hands!

  1.  American Camp Association accredited:  ACA accreditation is a voluntary program where a camp must meet up to 300 safety standards including, but not limited to, emergency preparations, health and wellness, food preparation, volunteer selection and more.  You can read more by clicking here. Camp Hope has been continuously accredited since 2002. Camp SIBsational is also accredited.  We are the only oncology camp in the region that is accredited by the ACA.
  2. Background checks:  All volunteers undergo yearly mandatory criminal and sexual predator background checks. We also routinely check all volunteers against the Kansas and Missouri child abuse databases.
  3. Ratios:  We maintain strict volunteer to camper ratios at all times meaning your child will be closely monitored.
  4. Health Team: We have complete medical team on-site with the campers 24 hours a day during camp. For Camp Hope this typically includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists and mental health specialists. For Camp SIBsational this includes nurses, mental health specialists and a physician available by phone 24/7.
