Through Camp Hope and Camp SIBsational, KyMel’s mission is to support families on the cancer journey by providing connecting experiences. Every dollar donated goes directly to helping families–regardless of financial ability– temporarily forget about cancer. Will you participate in Camp and Cocktails for a Cause as a sponsor, donor and/or attendee so we can preserve our legacy of providing camps at no cost to the children we serve?

We can’t wait to see you (online) at Camp For A Cause on September 12 at 7:00 PM. Your support will help KyMel provide an in-home camp experience for local kids facing cancer!

Featured Special Guests:

BRYAN ARRI is one of the premier mixologists in Kansas City. He counts eight years in the hospitality industry, and has spent the last three years consecutively on the staff of James Beard Award Semifinalist cocktail bars in Kansas City, Missouri. During this time, he also attended and completed the acclaimed BAR 5-Day program in New York City, heralded as the world’s most comprehensive distilled spirits and mixology program. In 2019, readers of The Pitch voted Bryan the “Best Bartender” in Kansas City.

CHARLIE BERENS is an Emmy-winning journalist, comedian, and creator of the Manitowoc Minute. The Wisconsin native has been featured on Fox, CBS, Funny or Die, TBS Digital, Variety, MTV News and more.  Charlie began his career working for MTV News’ Choose or Lose. After that he worked in front and behind the camera for emerging YouTube news channels. In 2012, Tribune Media tapped Charlie to host the comedic news show Nightcap. In 2013 he won an Emmy for “The Cost of Water” while reporting for KDAF.  In 2014 CBS Sports Network hired Charlie to host the sports gameshow You’re So Money. Also in 2014, PMC (Variety, Deadline) made Charlie the host of their comedy/entertainment news brand @Hollywood. From red carpets to Sundance to SXSW to Coachella, Charlie has interviewed hundreds of celebrities, politicians, actors, and musicians. In 2016 Charlie turned his attention toward acting and developing his scripted series. He found success at the Just For Laughs Festival where Kevin Hart picked up Co-Anchor Confidential for his LOL comedy platform.  Charlie is regularly featured on Funny or Die. His comedic mashups including “If Jack Dawson Was Really From Wisconsin” have garnered more than 13 million views. Most recently Charlie’s Manitowoc Minute series has received similar success — including millions of views, and a sold-out standup comedy tour.

KIM BYRNES anchors and reports the news at 9am and noon. Kim came to FOX 4 in 1997. She began her career here as a general assignment reporter before getting promoted to anchor of the weekend evening shows.
Kim has been telling stories since she was a child. With a captive audience in her sixth grade class, she turned a three minute speech into 27 minutes. Her teacher told her it was a school record and she hasn’t stopped talking since.
In her spare time, which is rare, she loves to hang out with her three kids, shop, travel and fish. One of her proudest moments is reeling in a 25 pound king salmon in Alaska, which she showed off to fellow travelers at Kansas City International Airport upon landing. The baggage claim area has never quite smelled the same.
Kim has also worked as an anchor, reporter and photographer in Springfield, Missouri and Pittsburg, Kansas. She loves Kansas City and plans to call it home for a long time to come.
